Brazoria County Fair 2009

Well if you have been reading my blog then you know JT has been raising a goat to show at the fair. Well it was finally time. The fair started October 9. The hog show was Saturday, my nephew Hank was showing his pig so we went to watch. Here is my nephew Justin with Emily and my sister Susan waiting for the hog show:

Then on Sunday morning we had to bring the goat up to be weighed in:

JT then got his show number:
We were assigned a pen to keep the goat in, here are the boys after getting her settled in her pen:

On Monday morning we had to go out to the fair early and start getting everything ready. Tori got in the pen with the goats to get their coats off:

My nephew Hank and my niece Tori were also showing goats. We got lucky and all ended up in different weight classes. My nephew Hank's weight class went first:

JT after his showing. He finished 7th in his weight class out of 20. One above him dropped out so that made him 6th, but he missed auction by one. Only the top 5 were auctioned. That is OK, he worked very hard and we are very proud of him. He will show is goat again this weekend in a different show now.

Soccer

Soccer season is a little over half way finished. It has been a great season so far. All the kids are doing great. This past weekend we got a group rate with our soccer club to go to the Houston Dynamo's soccer game. They were playing the L.A. Galaxy (David Beckham's team). We also got to go on the field and make a rally tunnel. We didn't get to pick which rally tunnel we would be doing, but we got to do the rally tunnel for the Galaxy which was fine by me as we got to see and hi-five David Beckham. Here are the kids waiting to go on the field:

The kids are loving soccer and they had a blast watching the pro's play. Will be kind of sad once the season is over.
