Boys soccer

The boys were so excited that it was their turn to have a game. Last weekend it was hard for them to watch Emily play as they had a bye and didn't play opening weekend. Well they came out ready this weekend winning their game 5 to 1. It was a great game and all the kids played awesome. Emily also had a game this weekend, but the weather started getting bad and was sprinkling a little so I didn't take any pictures of her game. They did good too. They also won (not that we keep score for her age).

JT started the game as goalie:

Dylan doing what he does best, driving it to the corner and then passing or shooting:

Dylan jogging down the field:
This year has been much more of a challenge for Dylan. He plays up with JT, but he is 8 and this is a U11 team and Dylan hasn't hit his growth spell yet while these boys are starting to so he is small compared to some of these boys:

Love this picture, almost looks like Dylan gets hit in the face, but the ball was in the air and he headed a pass to his team mate:

We love this team the kids are a good group of boys the coaches rock, lol (it is Todd and a friend of ours) and the parents are awesome too. One of the boys parents bought a vuvuzela like they were using at the world cup games and blows it each time we score. With 5 goals this weekend his lungs got a work out:

While JT loves to play goalie, he also likes to come out and play in the field too:

JT (#7) going for a goal:

A rare shot that has both my boys in it:

I look forward to this season, will be even better once it cools off some and the mosquito's leave. I expect that both teams will do well. We are hoping for a great season with the boys and hoping to move up a division by the end of this season.

Birthdays, kittens and soccer

August and September are busy months for birthday's between Todd and I's families. so we want to wish a late Happy Birthday to my sisters Norma, Christy and Susan who celebrated their birthdays August 8, 9, and 19, Todd's cousin Kellie whose was August 15 and Todd's brother Tyson on August 28 and his grandfather on August 29. We had dinner here at our house and celebrated my sisters when we did my niece and nephew's going away to college dinner. Tyson we celebrated with the family too, but didn't get any pictures but did take my camera to lunch when we celebrated Todd's grandfather's 86th birthday.

Here are some of his great-grandkids ready to chow down at Ryan's:

While we were eating some of the waitress came and sang happy birthday to him:

Todd's mom with her 2 brothers Mike and Steve and their dad:
It was nice to get together to celebrate a great milestone.
My mom and dad are moving, they are moving just around the corner from our house. Well the other day Todd and I went to go do some yard work for them. My dad had come over to the new house as he was waiting on the delivery of his new refrigerator. So I took a break and him and I sat outside on the bench are were talking when all of a sudden I saw something white underneath his car. I said awww look dad a kitten. He wasn't thrilled about it as he said they had stray cats around their old house and was hoping to get away from them. Then I was wondering how it got there as it was a tiny kitten and I knew it wasn't there when we first sat down. So I told Todd to get it out and it was just a little bitty thing barely had it's eyes open so we were wondering if it came out from under his car so Todd gets to looking under his car and sure enough there were 2 more sitting up underneath a ledge by the motor of his car. He must have rode over to the new house with them sitting there.

There were 2 white colored ones and a black one:
My dad wondering what to do with them:
We ended up taking them to a local vet who said he thought they were about 2 weeks old, we aren't cat people so we left them with the vet and they are going to try to find them a good home.
Well Labor Day has come and gone so that means it is soccer season. The boys had a bye their first week so no game for them. Emily's team played at 9 Saturday morning. They did really good.

Emily taking a break with some of her team, it was hot even at 9 in the morning:

Emily, #3, trying to make a pass to her team mate:

Not sure what the score was as we don't keep an official score at this age, and when I am helping coach I have too many other things to think about to try and keep up with the score, but the kids do and one of our little boys said we won 8 to 7, I knew it was close so that may be right. The boys will have their first game this Saturday and lucky for us it is a home game as is Emily's. I look forward to a great season for both teams!
Want to wish all our September birthdays a Happy Birthday, Justin on September 13, Steve on September 16, Harley September 20, Joey September 21, Lana September 22, and Mac and Anthony on September 26. Hope it is a great one and all your wishes come true, God bless!
