Bye-bye Ashley

Ashley (JT's goat) is now gone. He missed auction at the big fair by one, but we were very proud of how well he did in his first ever show (finished 6th in the end). Since he didn't make auction he was able to reshow Ashley at a smaller local show. Tori (my niece) and my nephew Hank also brought their animals to this show.

He did really good again:
And he finished 3rd in his class:

Tori's goat was in a different weight class than ours:

She won 1st in her weight class:

Tori got to come back and her show her goat for all the marbles and she ended up getting reserved grand champion:

I didn't get to see Hank show his pig because the kids had soccer games to get to. The next day all the animals would be auctioned off, but first we served all buyers a bar-b-que dinner. JT got all handsome before the auction:

Some of the FFA kids, like Hank, worked the sign in table for the buyers:

Then most people dressed their animals up to show them while being auctioned. My brother-in-law Hank, sister had made little foot and neck thing for Tori's goat, but she wanted to use a different outfit she bought. The way we tried to do JT"s goats outfit didn't work so we took the outfit that Gloria had made for Tori and used it on Ashley and as luck would have it, it just matched JT:

Here is Tori and her goat going into the auction arena:

The auctioneer was great and funny. Here is Hank auctioning off his pig. When they auction off the pigs, they don't have to bring them into the arena, they just carry this stuffed pig:

Now all the animals are gone. JT can't wait to do this again next year, but now he wants to try to do a pig too. We will see!

The kids also had soccer games that weekend. JT played goalie for part of the game:

Later, he got to play a forward. JT following the ball into the goal to make sure he scores:

Soccer is almost over. This will be our last weekend. It is bittersweet. It has been a great year and all the kids have played well, but I am ready for a little R & R. Due to a scheduling conflict on my part the boys are going to miss their playoffs. I feel bad, but hope their team goes on to win first!
Want to wish my wonderful husband a happy anniversary. We celebrated 15 years back on the 12th. I, and the kids, have been truly blessed with such a wonderful man in our lives.
Also my sister Susan and her husband Hank celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on the 3rd of this month, we love yall!
There are LOTS of birthdays this month so I am going to wish everyone a happy birthday Sydney (on the 1st), Alyssa (on the 3rd), our middle child Dylan turned 8 (on the 5th), my dad (on the 8th), Cassie will be 18 tomorrow (the 15th), Amanda (on the 18th) and my mom (on the 30th). We love each of yall and hope your day was/is great!
