Trivia

Do you like to play trivia? My family and friends use to play all the time, but we got busy and most of us have stopped playing. I thought I would start it up again so if you want to play click on the link and join in the fun. You have to create an account, but it is free so why not?

Hope you had a great birthday! While I am here I might as well wish Todd's cousins Lana a happy birthday (September 22) and Anthony and Mac (on September 26). Hope you all had a great day!!!!!!!

Back to School

I just dropped the kids off at school. This is their first day back since before Ike. It has been 2 weeks today since they were let out. It was nice having them home, but they were starting to get bored and want to pick fights so it couldn't have come at a better time. Things are slowly getting back to normal around here. Soccer has still been cancelled for this weekend, but JT's team has gone back to practice this week and Dylan and Emily's team go back on Monday. Hope everyone else around here is just about back to normal too!

Happy Birthday Justin, Harley and Joey

The month of September is a very busy month for birthdays in my family. I missed two of them as Justin had his 17th birthday on September 13 (thanks Hurricane Ike) so I want to wish him a Happy Birthday. I made him a card, but forgot to take a picture of it. Will see if I can go and get a picture of it, it was basketball themed as he plays basketball for his high school. Yesterday September 20 was my nephew Harley's birthday. He turned 28 :0! I hope you had a Happy Birthday!!! Today is my nephew Joey's 14th birthday so I made him this football card as he plays football for his junior high school! Hope you have a great birthday today! We love all of yall!!!!

Almost back to normal

Just thought I would give a quick update. We are still good here, slowly getting things back to normal. Todd went back to work this past week, but the kids don't go back to school until Thursday September 25. Around town it is a big mess, still a few areas that still don't have power, but everyday they get some more hooked up. My mom and dad got theirs late yesterday so they left us and went back home. We miss not having them around. The kids will go back to soccer practice starting Monday so won't be long and things will be a different kind of crazy around here again. It will be awhile before the Greater Houston/Galveston area is back to normal so please continue to pray for everyone out this way. Hope everyone else is doing good!

You might be a red neck if.....

I came home and I still don't have phone service, but for some reason our internet works, must be because it is on a different line. Anyways...here are some after pictures, you might be a red neck if after a hurricane you use a tractor to give the kids a ride in a john boat. This was at my sisters house, my nephew Hank gave the kids a ride. She didn't get any water near her house, but her front property got a lot and the kids had so much fun playing in it. JT caught catfish and one perch and some crawdads in it.

You might be a red neck if after a hurricane you have no power so you have to bathe your muddy kids in your pool. As it started getting dark we pulled the kids in and rinsed them off in the pool. Here are the boys standing in their pjs waiting for us to come get them so they didn't have to walk back through the muddy yard.

Here is the front of the house after the storm. We didn't sustain too much damage. We did lose a lot of shingles.

This is a cottonwood tree that fell at Todds grandparents house (they live across from us) This is the side of our house, you can see were some of the shingles blew off over my kitchen and if you look towards the front is were they blew off and caused it it leak in my dining room. Todd got up and put plastic over our roof in case of rain until we can get more shingles to fix our roof.
All in all we fared well as compared to the rest of town. I am truly grateful. I pray everyone else is well and safe. Check in with me if you are from around here by commenting or emailing me so I know how you are doing!

We survived!!!!

Praise the Lord, we made it through the Hurricane. We suffered only shingle loss so the roof leaked a little in the kitchen, in the dinning room and the living room and we got a little water in the master bathroom. We lost power about 11:00 on Friday night and it came back on about 4:30 this morning. One of our lights that line our driveway fell over. As far as for the rest of my family around the compound, they had shingle loss and some trees blew over, but we are all safe and sound. My mom and dad came and stayed with us. Around town it is pretty bad and our street is one of the few with power. Our phone doesn't work so I am at the inlaws as their phone does. My mom and dad had a huge tree land on their roof, but didn't crush the whole roof, but did do some damage. My sister in Pasadena, Christy is still with out power and her roof caved in and a window blew out. She had gone to stay with her kids and her ex so she is fine, but lost alot. The main thing is we are all safe and sound and everything else can be replaced. I prayfor everyone else. Hope all is well! Will post some pictures after I get my phone line back and get them downloaded. Take care!

Before the storm

We are about 12 hours or so away from the storm. As for now, we are still planning on staying. Here is the front of the house before the storm as Todd and his dad and brother were finishing boarding up yesterday.

I am hoping to get on here tomorrow or Sunday and show you an after picture and praying it will still look like this. Everyone be safe!

Soccer

Soccer season is here. Dylan and Emily had their first game last Saturday. JT was suppose to have two games this weekend since they didn't play last weekend, but Hurricane Ike has changed their plans.

Dylan and Emily did great and had a great time too. They won 9 to 7. Here are a few pictures from Saturday. Dylan is #6 and Emily is #2.

Then on Sunday we had gotten tickets to the Houston Dynamo game. It was an exciting game and the Dynamo won 3 to1.

After the game the kids got to go on to the field and take penalty shots against the Dynamo mascot Diesel. Here is Dylan shot:

JT's:
After this storm is gone, we will get back into soccer and will have more to share then.

Hurricane Ike!!!!!

To all friends and family keeps us in yalls prayers! As of right now we are planning on riding out the storm here in the house. We are all boarded up and picked up everything from around the patios and yards so we should be safe. If it makes a big change and heads more towards us (its not far from coming our way right now) we will try to get out ahead of the storm. For all who live in Ikes path I pray for you and your family that you will be safe if you stay or go! Pray for all who will suffer from this storm. Be safe and blessed and I hope to post in a few days!!!!

Long time...

Since I last posted. Everyone keeps asking me what I have been up to with all the kids in school. Well for most of the 1st week they were in school, I was sick so didn't do much of anything. The past week has been busy with soccer and homework and all that fun stuff. I have also been trying to get caught up on my house work. Next week I am hoping to get back to the gym and start working out again. Also I want to get to work on my scrapbooks. I am going away again at the end of this month for a weekend scrapbook retreat and I want to finish the one I was working on last time I went so I can get started on Emily's book when I go this time.

Last weekend I went to watch one of my nieces, Tori. She is cheering and dancing for one of the football teams. They were so much fun to watch. Here is a picture of her cheering, (she is the tall one in the middle back)

Here she is after they got through with their half time dance. They did so good.
Dylan and Emily had their first soccer game today. When I get the pictures uploaded I will share. They did so good. They won (not that we are suppose to keep score at their age). The whole team did great. Should be a great season. JT's team had a buy this week so they won't start until next week.

The weather was wonderful this morning and hope it starts staying like this. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
