Busy, busy

Well it is that time of year again. Baseball season that is. All three kids are playing again. We are having Emily play up (she is only 4) so that her and Dylan are on the same team. It makes it easier to only be running around to two different games and practices. Still very busy for me. The kids all have awesome coaches and it looks to be a great season. I may not post much as it gets hard when we get this busy and once we get home after all the games and practices I am usually to tired to get on. So stay tuned and I will update when I can (I know yall are all sitting around waiting on my next post, ha ha!)

Girls Weekend

So my weekend with some friends has come and gone. I had so much fun. The kids all survived and daddy even got them to baseball pictures on time and dressed (not like I was worried or anything). Friday Emily, Dylan and JT went and stayed with my mom and daddy got to go to a movie with his brother. All day Friday Emily kept asking is it time to go to Grandmas. She packed her bag right after lunch and wore it all day until she finally got to go to Grandmas. I had to take a picture of her just standing there with her backpack on ready to go!
This is a picture of where we stayed. It was great. It was in Wallis so it wasn't too far of a drive. We were served our meals and didn't even have to pick up our dishes or anything. The food was ok, too fancy for me (I am more of a hamburger pizza kind of gal), but I did try everything which isn't like me. If you like fancy foods like broccoli stuffed chicken then you would have been in luck. We were taken care of wonderfully. The scrapbook room was nice, we each had our own table with our own light and our own little sidekick (all you scrapbookers know what that is). I got a lot done, not as much as Care and Renee, but still a lot for me. When I get time I will try to take some pictures of some of my spreads and post them. I had a really great time and hope to get to go again on the next one.

Nothing

Nothing new going on. Just getting the kids ready to start up baseball. JT went back to the doctor today for his 1 week follow up from his tubes. Dr. said everything looked good. We got him fitted for ear plugs so he can swim without to many worries. He was excited about getting to choose what color he wanted. He picked red, neon green and black. I have been trying to get the house clean so I can leave Friday for a girls weekend with some friends. I am both scared and excited. This will be the first time I have been away from my kids for more than 24 hours. Todd will be here with them and I know they will be ok. Just wondering what my house will look like when I return! Also I am stressing a little as we recently found out the kids baseball pictures are Saturday. I know he can get the kids dressed and there on time, I just hope he does. Well I probably won't be back on here until after I return from my weekend, so I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and a blessed weekend!

Rainy night + 4wheeler= One muddy 8 year old boy

So Saturday night we got a bad storm that dropped alot of rain, only to wake up to a wonderful Sunday. JT decided he wanted to ride the 4 wheeler. Well we all know what happens when you put a boy on a 4 wheeler after a rain. He was covered in mud. I took this picture after I had already wiped his face clean. It doesn't look as bad here as it did in person. He had a blast though and that is all that matters. Now I need to go clean out the tub from giving him a bath!

Beautiful Sunday

Today was a beautiful day (after a really stormy night) and the kids wanted to fly kites. JT had been trying to fly one with Uncle Steve for the past few days. Popsy saw JT trying to get an old one up and decide to go buy the kids new ones. Dylan decided to cool off in Uncle Tyson's garage with a popsicle.

JT had fun flying his new eagle.

Emily got her butterfly up and going with a little help.

Dylan's ladybug!

Emily's butterfly!

JT's eagle!

Valentines!

I thought I would share some of the things the kids and I did for Valentines day. For the boys teacher I decorated a little mailbox and put some Valentines goodies in it and I also made little Hershey kisses tents, York peppermint patties little things and a box of Hershey's nuggets.

This is a picture of the nugget box with the covered nuggets in it.

Then for the kids we took box of heart candy and make a pull up candy box. I stamped an image and let the boys pick which stamp they wanted for which kids and then they colored them.

We also made these little pixie stick holders.

The kids had fun help making everything, though JT did get a little tired of coloring after a while. They had fun at their class party as well.

Happy Valentines Day!

Just wanted to say Happy Valentines day to everyone. Have some pictures to share of the valentines the kids helped make for their class, but don't have them on the computer yet. Will post them after I get them up. Nothing exciting going on here as Todd is sick. I don't think this mess is ever going to leave us alone!

JT's hospital trip!

So last year JT failed his hearing test at school. We took him to the ENT and they said he had fluid build up, but his hearing was fine. The did say the fluid was causing negative pressure on his ear drums though, they said we might want to consider tubes. I said that he hasn't had a lot of ear infections and I thought the fluid might just be from the recent cold. The ENT said we would watch it and see how things go. A year later, in December, JT said his ear hurt one night so I took him back to the ENT. Dr. Abbassi said he still had fluid and the negative pressure had increased, he said we might want to consider tubes. We decided to try to wait and see how things went. Then about 3 weeks later his ear drum ruptured causing extreme pain and bleeding from the ear. We then decided we better get the tubes. So today was the day. We had to be at Texas Children's Hospital at 6:15. We got him all registered and then they gave him some pj's to wear:

The doctors and nurses were all great! They came out and asked what flavor he wanted his gas mask to be, he said he wanted rootbeer so off he went. About 15 minutes later Dr. Abbassi came and told us everything was great and that he did have a blood clot in the ear that had ruptured but he got it out and we would be able to see him in a few minutes. About 15 minutes later we got called back to the recovery area and he was still asleep. The nurse said to just let him sleep and wake up on his own as when they wake them up sometimes the kids are a little cranky. So about 15 minutes later he sat straight up and was wide awake and was ready to go home. He wasn't happy when we told him he had to stay for a little while to make sure he was ok, he said he was fine and was ready to go. The nurse got him some Sprite and he relaxed until it was time to go. I am so proud of him, he did so good. I can't say enough for how great all the people at Texas Children's Hospital were. And of course Dr. Abbassi rocks! Here are some pictures from the recovery area:

Bubba Gump teeth

I know yall have all seen those fake teeth that you wear that are missing a bunch of teeth or are black. Well poor little JT doesn't have the fake teeth, but it looks like he is wearing them. Poor kid just keeps loosing teeth faster than they can grow back. Also I feel for him because if you look at the one front tooth that has already come in, it is HUGE! I am so sorry! Big teeth run on my side of the family. Good thing we have great dental insurance!

New addition to our family!

Actually 2 new additions. No, I have not been secretly pregnant with twins, but we got two pet hermit crabs. Or I should say JT did. His friend Natalie just had to give these to him for his birthday. He is just so excited about them.

This is a really nice set up, they have 5 shells in there. They don't really move much, so I am not sure what all the excitement is about them. One of them JT has named Biggie, because it is the larger of the two.
This one here in front he has named Happy, because it is in a Happy Easter Shell. I just hope he still likes them as much a month from now.

100th day of school

Today is the 100th day of school. The kindergarteners were suppose to make either a poster with 100 items or a shirt with a 100 items. So I ask Dylan what he wants to do and he says he wants to make a shirt and that he wants 50 bumble bees and 10 bee hives and so I say and 40 flowers, he says no mom, 40 footballs.

So this morning I get the boys up for school and Dylan is saying he doesn't want to go (he already missed Tuesday-Thursday due to being sick). I tell him he can't miss anymore. So I go to put his shirt on and he starts crying saying he doesn't want to wear it because he is going to look stupid. I am like what, this was your idea. He crys some more and says everyone is going to laugh at him. I tell him they won't as they will be wearing shirts with stuff on it too. I finally get him dressed and put his jacket on (which he zips up and says he isn't taking it off) and I tell him I will pack him another shirt so he can change if after getting to school he is still embarrassed. Here is a picture of him this morning, not happy!
This is the back of his shirt with the 40 footballs (the bees and bee hives are on the front). Daddy tried to make it look like a smiley face with the tongue sticking out and eyebrows.
So the school nurse calls me about 11:00 saying JT isn't feeling well, so I get dressed (as now I am not feeling well and was still in PJ's resting) and go up there. It is lunch time so I ask JT what is wrong and he says his head hurts so I give him medicine and say that I will wait until after lunch to see how he feels and if he is feeling better then I will leave him for the rest of the day (I didn't want him to miss any school because he is going to miss a few days next week when he has tubes in) and if not I would bring him home. So I go talk to Dylan's teacher to let her know he had a bad morning and see how he did. She said that he had his jacket zipped up the first part of the morning and she didn't even know that he had a 100th day shirt on. She had the kids come up and talk about their shirts and when she thought she was done she asked if anyone else had anything to share and she said he raised his hand and came up to the front and unzipped his jacket so everyone could see and she said he was smiling from ear to ear. Glad to see it all worked out for him.

Prayers please

I am a member of a moms group and one of the girls best friends daughter was just diagnosed with ALL leukemia. She is only 3 years old and was just brought to Texas Children's Hospital yesterday and they will begin treatment soon (I think today). Her name is Jolie, I can't imagine what her family is going through right now so if you could just please say a prayer for her and her family!

Also please scroll down to the help us post and read it and maybe give us a good idea for spring break.

Thanks and blessings!

Dylan was sick!

So Monday we go to take JT to the doctor for his 8 year check up and Dylan was sitting on my lap and he tells me he is tired. I figured he would be as we had let the boys lay in bed and watch the end of the Superbowl Sunday so he went to bed later than usual. The doctor comes in and takes one look at Dylan and ask me if I think he has the flu. I say no, he is just tired. The doctor says no I think he might have the flu. I will test him after I am done with JT. I say ok. So to make a long story shot the test comes back positive for the flu. Sure enough by the time we get home he is already running a fever. He is better now. So today, Wednesday, daddy had the day off and they decide they are going to try to be scientist.

Dylan loves dinosaurs and he got this little science dinosaur mold kit for Christmas and we hadn't done it, so we decide we will try it today. He had fun putting the bones together on his T-Rex and then daddy mixed the stuff and poured it into the mold. It had to sit for 6 hours.

Not sure what happened to it, but it didn't cover it completely. The gel didn't stick to it around the feet and jaw. Oh well, as you can see on Dylan's face he still had a fun time putting it together. It did come with another mix so if you want you can try it again. Lets just say daddy got a little frustrated with it and I don't think we will be trying it again anytime soon. In the long run, I am not real sure if he ever even had the flu. If so it was a real mild form of it as he only ran a little bit of fever and had a runny nose. He is all better now and will return to school tomorrow
since he hasn't had any fever since Tuesday night.

Girly-girl!

For a little girl who likes to play sports and ride 4 wheelers and run around with her two brothers she still has a girly side. So my sister Susan (the kids call her Aunt SuSu) and my niece Tori took Emily to Walgreens the other day with them. When they come home what does my daughter have in her hands. Lip gloss and finger nail polish. Two of her favorite things.

First thing when she wakes up the next morning she is ready to paint her nails. She actually did a pretty good job. Now she does gets lot of practice as she will paint her nails let it dry peel it off and then want to paint them again. She has had so much fun doing this.

Now she hasn't mastered the art of applying lipgloss yet. I am sure it is only a matter of time as she will put it on then 5 minutes later she wipes it off only to turn around and put it on again. And for those who know Emily well, you thought she was bad with gum.

Thanks Aunt SuSu for this wonderful gift as it is giving her lots of entertainment.

Help Us!!

Ok, so it is almost time for spring break. Todd and I can't agree on what to do. Got any suggestions? We talked about driving up to the Smokey Mountains and stopping at different places on the way. I don't think Emily would have alot of fun as she doesn't like to sit for long times. Then we talked about going to Florida and going to Disneyworld, but I would like to wait and go in the summer and stay at the Nickelodeon hotel (when the rates are better) as the kids keep wanting to go there. I am afraid if we go camping it might be too cold or rainy. Last year for spring break we went to Dallas to go to Six Flags over Texas then drove to San Antonio to go to Fiesta Texas. That was fun and thinking about doing that again, but would be fun to do something new. So leave me a comment or drop me an email to give us some ideas on something fun we could do with the kids for spring break. Please!!!! Thanks and have a great week.
