100th day of school

Today is the 100th day of school. The kindergarteners were suppose to make either a poster with 100 items or a shirt with a 100 items. So I ask Dylan what he wants to do and he says he wants to make a shirt and that he wants 50 bumble bees and 10 bee hives and so I say and 40 flowers, he says no mom, 40 footballs.

So this morning I get the boys up for school and Dylan is saying he doesn't want to go (he already missed Tuesday-Thursday due to being sick). I tell him he can't miss anymore. So I go to put his shirt on and he starts crying saying he doesn't want to wear it because he is going to look stupid. I am like what, this was your idea. He crys some more and says everyone is going to laugh at him. I tell him they won't as they will be wearing shirts with stuff on it too. I finally get him dressed and put his jacket on (which he zips up and says he isn't taking it off) and I tell him I will pack him another shirt so he can change if after getting to school he is still embarrassed. Here is a picture of him this morning, not happy!
This is the back of his shirt with the 40 footballs (the bees and bee hives are on the front). Daddy tried to make it look like a smiley face with the tongue sticking out and eyebrows.
So the school nurse calls me about 11:00 saying JT isn't feeling well, so I get dressed (as now I am not feeling well and was still in PJ's resting) and go up there. It is lunch time so I ask JT what is wrong and he says his head hurts so I give him medicine and say that I will wait until after lunch to see how he feels and if he is feeling better then I will leave him for the rest of the day (I didn't want him to miss any school because he is going to miss a few days next week when he has tubes in) and if not I would bring him home. So I go talk to Dylan's teacher to let her know he had a bad morning and see how he did. She said that he had his jacket zipped up the first part of the morning and she didn't even know that he had a 100th day shirt on. She had the kids come up and talk about their shirts and when she thought she was done she asked if anyone else had anything to share and she said he raised his hand and came up to the front and unzipped his jacket so everyone could see and she said he was smiling from ear to ear. Glad to see it all worked out for him.

Ugh this kills me because I know that David will be in Dylan's shoes not to long from now. I hate to see them scared that people will make fun of them but you were so smart to pack the other shirt! I need Mommy lessons, please! lol Glad that it all worked out! Love the shirt!
